Io Seat – Modular Bench is a modern, elegant, and functional modular urban bench designed to give everyone the ability to maintain individuality in public spaces. The modular bench concept is based on flexibility and versatility: people want to feel part of a community while also being seen and valued as unique individuals. The new IO modular series allows a balance between personal needs and community interaction – individual, intimate zones merge into a cohesive solution, promoting communication, social interaction, and engaging public space experiences. Modular bench elements can be combined in different ways: they complement each other while remaining fully autonomous, allowing free reconfiguration to adapt to different areas or even redefine urban environments.

Advantages of modular design

The frame of Io Seat – Modular Bench is made of galvanized steel sheet, shaped supports obtained by laser cutting with formed corners. Each support is equipped with base plates with holes for secure anchoring to the ground. Modular elements include shaped intermediate armrests and side tables, also made of galvanized sheet metal. The seat and backrest are made of Okumè-type wood profiles, arranged in different orientations on the seat and backrest sides, ensuring comfort and aesthetic appeal. At the bottom of the table, on the seat support, there is a door for the USB socket, and all electrical components are safely housed in a special internal compartment, providing additional functionality for modern urban environments.

The galvanized steel structure coated with thermosetting powder coating ensures high resistance to atmospheric agents, corrosion, and long-term durability even under extreme conditions.

Wood:

• Pine wood. Softwood timber is a natural, soft and easy-to-work wood obtained from coniferous trees such as pine, spruce, or fir. Compared to hardwoods, softwood has a lower density, lighter weight, and a more uniform texture, making it easy to cut, plane, and glue. It is widely used in construction, furniture production, flooring, cladding, and small architectural elements like benches, tables, and playground structures. Pine wood offers flexibility and ease of machining, while spruce tends to be lighter in color and takes paint well. With proper treatment and impregnation, softwood can withstand outdoor exposure, making it a popular choice for various projects.
• Okoume is a lightweight and durable tropical wood originating from African regions. It features a uniform, fine texture, a light pink to yellowish-brown color, and minimal knotting, giving it a modern and aesthetic appearance. Due to its good stability, flexibility, and low weight, Okoume is widely used in the production of street and urban furniture such as benches, tables, playground equipment, as well as yacht decks and shipbuilding. It is also commonly used for high-quality plywood, furniture, facades, and outdoor equipment. Okoume is easy to process and well suited for milling, gluing, and painting, making it highly valued by architects, designers, and manufacturers.
• The products are impregnated with oil 3 times or lacquered and prepared for outdoor use. Colors: Available color variants from the manufacturer.
• The thickness of the wooden slats: 3-4 cm and more.

Metal:

• Galvanized steel. Painted metal (RAL colors from the manufacturer’s provided variants).
• The metal is primed with an anti-corrosive zinc primer and coated with powder paint suitable for outdoor conditions (colors can be chosen from the manufacturer’s RAL palette).

Bolts:

• Bolts and connecting details are made from galvanized steel.

Installation / Mounting:

• Small architecture products: metal benches, loungers, stands, bike racks, trash bins, etc., are either concreted into the ground or anchored to a solid base.
• Freestanding on a solid surface.
