HPC Terrazzo Concrete Bench with Wooden Seat BS-233 | Urban Premium Collection
Natural stone aesthetics, the warmth of wood and premium-quality HPC Terrazzo concrete – BS-233 from the Urban Premium Collection is a contemporary backless bench combining a durable concrete structure with a comfortable seating surface available in softwood, bamboo, Iroko or Resysta® composite wood.
BS-233 is a modern and elegant HPC Terrazzo concrete bench without backrest and with a wooden seat, part of the Urban Premium Collection. Its design is based on the harmonious combination of two contrasting materials – solid architectural concrete and the warm, natural appearance of wood. This balance gives the bench a distinctive character and allows it to integrate naturally into contemporary urban and landscape environments.
The base of the bench is manufactured from High Performance Concrete (HPC) – premium-quality fibre-reinforced concrete characterised by excellent structural strength, stability and long-term durability. HPC technology is particularly suitable for intensively used street furniture designed for long-term installation in demanding outdoor environments.
The distinctive HPC Terrazzo concrete structure is created using carefully selected natural marble or granite aggregates. Natural stone particles of defined sizes and different colours can be combined to create a wide variety of terrazzo finishes, allowing BS-233 to be individually adapted to the architectural materials, colour palette and landscape concept of each project.
The concrete surface is fully ground and polished, revealing the natural structure and beauty of the marble or granite aggregates. The smooth polished finish gives the concrete an elegant, refined and premium architectural appearance. As natural stone aggregates are used, subtle variations in colour and texture may occur, giving each BS-233 bench its own individual character.
For enhanced seating comfort and a warmer visual contrast with the solid concrete base, the BS-233 seating surface is available in several material options: softwood, bamboo, Iroko or Resysta® composite wood. This selection allows architects and designers to adapt the bench to the aesthetic concept, environmental conditions and performance requirements of each project.
Softwood provides a natural and welcoming appearance that creates an attractive contrast with the mineral character of terrazzo concrete. Bamboo offers a contemporary aesthetic with a distinctive natural texture, while Iroko is an exotic hardwood appreciated for its rich appearance and suitability for outdoor furniture applications.
For projects where durability and reduced maintenance are key priorities, the seating surface can be made from Resysta® composite wood. It provides the warm appearance of natural wood while offering excellent resistance to moisture and demanding outdoor conditions. Resysta® does not crack, swell or rot, making it a practical and durable alternative for intensively used public spaces.
The concrete and seating surfaces receive appropriate protective treatments to improve their resistance to environmental exposure, reduce dirt accumulation and simplify maintenance. The protective treatment of the concrete also enhances its hydrophobic properties and helps preserve the refined appearance of the polished HPC Terrazzo surface over time.
The backless design provides greater flexibility when planning public spaces and allows the bench to be conveniently integrated into a variety of urban layouts. The minimalist geometry of BS-233 works particularly well with contemporary architecture, natural stone paving, landscaped areas and other modern street furniture elements.
BS-233 is ideally suited for parks, public squares, urban plazas, promenades, pedestrian zones, business and shopping centres, hotels, office developments, residential complexes, airports, railway and bus stations, as well as other public and private spaces.
For architects, landscape architects, municipalities and property developers, BS-233 provides extensive customisation possibilities. Different HPC Terrazzo colour combinations and natural marble or granite aggregates can be selected, together with seating surfaces made from softwood, bamboo, Iroko or Resysta® composite wood, allowing the bench to be tailored to the individual character of each project.
BS-233 is more than a backless concrete bench. It is a contemporary Urban Premium Collection architectural design element that combines the natural aesthetics of marble or granite, refined polished HPC Terrazzo concrete and the warmth of wood to create functional, durable and visually balanced street furniture.

HPC Terrazzo Concrete Technology:
- High Performance Concrete (HPC) is a fibre-reinforced architectural concrete manufactured using high-quality grey or white Portland cement, natural marble or granite aggregates, and carefully selected mineral materials. This advanced concrete technology provides exceptional structural strength, long-term durability, and outstanding resistance to intensive daily use.
- The distinctive terrazzo structure is created by integrating multi-coloured natural marble or granite aggregates throughout the entire concrete mass. The stone aggregates are not glued or applied to the surface but become an integral part of the product, ensuring an authentic terrazzo appearance and lasting performance.
- After production, the surface is carefully ground and polished to expose the natural stone aggregates, creating a seamless terrazzo finish distinguished by its refined aesthetics, natural stone texture, and excellent wear resistance.
- Depending on the product model, the surface may also be finished using Embossed Aggregate technology. This treatment enhances the natural texture of the marble or granite aggregates, adding depth, character, and a distinctive architectural appearance.
- All surfaces are additionally protected with a hydrophobic impregnating treatment and protective lacquer, reducing water absorption, limiting dirt accumulation, and improving resistance to UV radiation, corrosion, frost, and other harsh environmental conditions.
- Thanks to the fibre-reinforced HPC technology, the products offer outstanding resistance to mechanical damage, freeze–thaw cycles, weathering, and vandalism, making them ideal for intensively used public spaces as well as private outdoor environments.
- HPC terrazzo concrete is fully recyclable, as its production process does not involve resins or polymer-based adhesives. Manufactured from natural mineral materials, it meets modern requirements for sustainability, durability, and responsible architectural design.

Terrazzo – premium-quality decorative surface made from marble and granite aggregates
Terrazzo is a luxurious, long-lasting and high-quality composite stone material made from marble, granite, quartz or other natural stone aggregates, bound with cement or epoxy. Due to its high content of decorative stone, Terrazzo delivers unique aesthetics and superior technical performance that clearly surpasses traditional concrete products.
Its surface is refined through a meticulous grinding and polishing process, revealing the natural stone mosaic and creating a premium, seamless finish. Terrazzo is denser, smoother, moisture-resistant and far more durable than ordinary concrete, making it ideal for both interior and exterior use.
Thanks to these qualities, Terrazzo is widely used for outdoor furniture, small architectural elements, planters, benches, countertops, stairs, façade details and other decorative products. It maintains its beauty and durability for many years, even under heavy use and changing weather conditions.
Differences between Terrazzo and traditional concrete products with granite aggregate
- Composition
• Terrazzo: contains a high amount of marble and granite aggregate, giving the surface a seamless, luxurious look with rich colors. Each product is like a natural stone mosaic, where the stone is the main component and the binder only strengthens the structure.
• Traditional concrete: the stone component is only a small fraction, while the base consists of cement and gravel. As a result, the surface often looks monotonous, flat, and less aesthetic.
- Structure and density
• Terrazzo: due to its dense structure and low porosity, the material does not absorb moisture, dirt, or other contaminants. This provides durability and resistance to frost, heat, and mechanical impact.
• Concrete: is porous and more absorbent, so it wears out faster, cracks, or accumulates dirt, especially outdoors. Moisture can also damage the structure, particularly in cold climates.
- Surface finishing
• Terrazzo: the surface is ground and polished in several stages, revealing the natural stone pattern, colors, and texture. This finish not only enhances beauty but also makes cleaning easier.
• Concrete: the surface is usually rough or only minimally smoothed, resulting in uneven light reflection and more difficult maintenance.
- Aesthetics
• Terrazzo: provides a luxurious, rich, mosaic effect appreciated by architects and designers. Each product is unique – the aggregate pattern never repeats, creating a distinctive impression.
• Concrete: looks simpler, uniform, and less decorative, so it does not always give interior or exterior spaces a distinctive look.
- Durability and longevity
• Terrazzo: can last for decades as the surface retains its color, shine, and texture. Its wear resistance allows intensive use – both indoors and outdoors.
• Concrete: wears out faster, loses color, absorbs dirt and moisture, and requires more maintenance and frequent renovation or restoration.
By choosing Terrazzo, you select a premium material that brings long-lasting beauty, uniqueness, and professional, architect-approved design to your space.
