BS-156 is a modular HPC Terrazzo seating system where curved concrete geometry, natural stone texture and a wooden seating surface come together in a unified architectural form. The ability to connect individual modules makes it possible not only to create seating areas, but also to define the rhythm, direction and resting zones of a public space.

Modular Architectural Form

The design of BS-156 is based on a continuous, flowing line and the possibility of extending it throughout the space. A single module can function as an independent outdoor bench, while multiple elements can be connected to create longer linear or curved compositions. This modular approach gives architects and landscape architects the freedom to adapt the seating system to the scale, circulation patterns and architectural concept of a specific site.

Material Expression

The solid character of HPC Terrazzo concrete is balanced by the natural warmth of wood and the precision of the metal structure. Marble or granite aggregate revealed within the textured concrete surface gives the bench a distinctive natural stone character, while different combinations of concrete and aggregate colours allow it to be coordinated with paving, façades, planting schemes and the overall material palette of the project.

The wooden seating surface visually softens the mineral structure and provides a comfortable contact surface. Material and finish options for the BS-156 model are selected in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical specification.

Freedom to Shape Public Space

HPC Concrete

Fibre-reinforced High Performance Concrete (HPC) – architectural concrete designed for intensively used urban furniture and architectural elements.

HPC Terrazzo

Natural marble or granite aggregate in a 2–5 mm fraction is integrated directly into the concrete mass during production. It is not a decorative layer applied to the surface – finishing the concrete reveals the natural stone structure, giving the surface its individual character.

Surface Finish

• Polished Terrazzo – ground and polished surface that highlights the natural marble or granite structure.
• Exposed Aggregate – textured surface with exposed natural stone aggregate.

The concrete surface is additionally treated with a hydrophobic protection system and protective lacquer to reduce water absorption and dirt accumulation and to help protect the surface from weather exposure.

Depending on the selected finish, a “Wet Look” effect is available. Surface finish options depend on the specific product model.

Seating Materials

Depending on the product model and the architectural concept of the project, different materials may be used:

• Softwood – pine or spruce
• Ash wood
• Iroko wood
• Bamboo
• Resysta® composite material

Wooden elements intended for outdoor use are protected with oil or lacquer according to the manufacturer’s specified finishing system. Manufacturer-selected wood shades are available.

The materials and finish options available for each product model are specified in the relevant technical specification.

Metal

Depending on the product construction, the following materials may be used:

• AISI 304 stainless steel
• Hot-dip galvanised steel
• Powder-coated hot-dip galvanised steel – colours selected from the manufacturer’s available RAL palette

The exact metal type, colour and surface finish are specified in the technical specification for each product model.

Bolts and Connecting Elements

Depending on the product model and construction, galvanised or stainless-steel connecting elements are used. The exact solution is specified in the technical documentation for the individual product.

Fixing / Installation

Depending on the product model and project requirements, the following installation methods may be used:

• Anchored to a prepared solid substrate
• Embedded in concrete foundations in the ground
• Free-standing installation on a suitably prepared solid surface

The specific installation method is selected according to the product construction, weight, substrate and technical requirements of the project.
